And of course the beer couldn't fall out of an Optimist (and you'd have plenty of time to quaff it). Lasers? Not too fast for a mighty Hungarian warrior. I have a 14 to one mainsheet. Optis, FJs, Flying Duchman. I can get any racing boat I want. A better challenge would be one-on-one, single handed with thistles, or lightnings. This is getting good! I am a successful yacht racer, from all points of the globe. I have trophies to prove it, On my second Mill's Race, with my own yacht, is the first time I was attacked by sea monsters. You girly-boys reading this may want to forward, or you will soil your own panties. We became entangled in fish nets. It was 3 AM, and I dove into the water, with a knife clenched in my teeth. I cut away the nets, knowing full well that if I became entangled in the webbing, I would never breathe fresh air again. I swam to the surface, my crew was vigilant, and well trained, they had thrown a line, attached to a boat cushions, which I grabbed, and pulled myself back to the boat. The ordeal did not end there. During the next three hours, floats from the monster were banging against our hull. The monster had wrapped itself around our keel, and was slowing us down. At 6AM, When the sun was up, I dove into the sea again, and cut us loose. I saved one of the tentacles, and it is nailed to my wall, as a tribute to my heroism, and bravery. I raced Force Fives before you were born. That's a pretty good trick. I was eleven when Fred Scott and Jack Evans designed the Force 5 as a ripoff of Bruce Kirby's Laser. I've never sailed one myself, but I've sailed against them - not exactly the fastest things on the water. Lasers, Thistles, Lightnings, Optis, Hobies. You name it, I sail it. You can choose from a Sunfish to a Swan 60. I will kick your ass. As long as it's not one of those wimpy boats with a ballasted keel, whatever. Your yacht club, or mine? Mine. I provide the boats - no charter fee or anything. You may choose your weapon from among nine different one-designs (Laser, 470, Vanguard 15, etc.) Sorry, no four-knot **** boxes allowed. //Walt |

All that proves is that Detroit has a newspaper. On second thought, even that could have been faked. Detroit has one-and-a-half, actually. Although if you noticed the headline in the sidebar ("Detroit teenager dreams of escaping poverty") you might dispute whether they report "news" or not. bw |
