Default Four wheel rollerskis

Hi all: One of the recent threads concerning inlines and rollerskis
started me thinking about "more wheels on rsk's". Jenex sells a model
which they state is for advanced skiers (not me, I'm afraid). Using
Rick Simmons' plans for "homemade rollerskis" (www.xcskiworld.com), I
put a pair of four wheel skis together. Same wheelbase (25 in.)with
80mm. wheels, high durometer on the rear. The only change to the plans
was opening up the wheel wells to fit two wheel each.
They work just fine, much smoother than the 2 wheel version. In fact,
it seemed to this inexpert skier that climbing grade was easier - I
had just gotten off my 150's when I tried the 4 wheel skis. Pete.

Well, here we are making rollerblades again.

In fact there is a Australian contraption for downhill boots that use
4 wheels as well - sort of rollerski for downhillers. So Jenex is not
alone.

The problem is still the same - darn things are just too fast and roll
too easy,
especially on rough pavement.
Outfitting it with 80mm rubber wheels (K2 Speedgrip) should make it
slower and grip even better.
