Default Compressor Bags

Dear All,
Going Nordic ski touring in Norway. Non-circular route so everything has to
go into the one sac. Any one got any views on Compressor bags and be
prepared to make recommendations?
Thanks

I assume you're going hut-to-hut skiing, in which case it is relatively
easy to pack all you need in nice daypack.

If OTOH you intend to sleep in tents and/or snowcaves, then you'll need
quite a bit more gear. :-)

Personally I only use the compressor bag that came with my nice
(Norwegian) winter sleeping bag.

Using some of the smaller "packing cubes"
http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/sto...rom=SR&feat=sr
can be handy for keeping your stuff somewhat orgainzed in you pack and
in the huts. 4 to 6 people in bunks can be crowded if everyone
spreads their stuff out.

'Non-circular route' - if you have to carry everything that goes on
the aeroplane then you obviously have to make compromise decisions,
such as wearing your ski clothes and boots on the plane vs carrying
them while skiing. You can leave a bag at the airport or station.
If using huts, I would advise trying to keep to a generous day-sack.
You can ski with an 80L sack crammed with camping/snowholing gear, and
if you are camping then you must; but the skiing itself is a lot more
fun (and a lot faster) with just a day-sack. A down jacket compresses
easily enough without a compression sack, and if you need to compress
much more than that then you should think about reducing your gear.
There is a good packing list in the DNT brochure, that says that your
pack should weigh no more than 10kg for their guided hut tours.

Have fun.

I've been able to leave extra items including ski bags and extra skis
not need on the ski tour at both hotel and hostel left luggage rooms.
