Default End of ice/snow season

( a bit OT, since it deals mainly with ice skating, which
may become my preferred winter sport!)

Nova Scotia had the warmest weather is 100 years. So the skiing was
poor this winter, but not as bad as some winters I can remember (1978-1979
had NO skiing). I got out skiing several times. First ski Dec 10, last ski
was Mar 9.

The ice season in Nova Scotia was also very short, some lakes were open
in mid-January! But we had a few nice trips on tour-skates and kicksleds.
The last ice trip was Mar 26. Photos of the ice season at:

* In North America, the main tour-skating activity is by the Nordic
Skater bunch in Vermont/New Hampshire, led by Jamie Hess. Jamie reported
that a group of 20 skated on Lake Willoughby in Northern Vermont on Mar 30.

* A recent convert to "wild skating", Eric Teed
from Adirondack area, NY, writes of his skating experiences
in New England and northern NY:

* Phelps Holloway, from South Hero, Vermont, made APs Pictures Of The
Week, skating on Lake Champlain Mar 23:

* English languange information about tour-skating is very limited (maybe
even suppressed? :-). Mark Harris, an English guy living in Sweden, has a
good article about ice skating:

So visit Chile or Argentina or NZ.
I can't wait to get invited on a work expedition to Chile.
