Default new skis?

Hello, the last time I bought new skis was about 20 years ago. They are
Atomic Telemark skis with 3 pin (75mm) bindings and some excellent
leather stiff sole boots. It's time for the new stuff! I don't want
cable bindings, I'm sticking with the 3 pin bindings. I want a touring
ski the will turn well. It needs to be waxless as well. What say? Richard

I absolutely love my Fischer Nordic Cruising Cruisers. The shortness
makes for much easier turns, the multi faceted base makes for better
grip and glide.
Eagle River Nordic has some on closeoutsale right now at $99

I use mine with 3 pin telemark bindings (recommended instead or the
weaker type bail bindings). I don't know if they mount or stock 3 pin.
For my weight I was borderline medium or Large sizing, and I went with
Large and have been very happy.

Thanks for your reply, those look like fine skis. I want metal edges
though. Possible I may try the "Cruzer) model with the metal edges. The
are 2 pair of Fisher Rebounds at our local store that look good although
maybe too beefie. I checked them out and the seem very light for the
width. I'm not sure I could mount 3 pin bindings on them. Have you ever
heard of the "Rebound" skis? Richard

I'm in the process of moving into the 20th C. (shorter wider skiis) for
out-of-track. The Karhu backcountry line looks good and has been
recommended highly. I'm probably headed somewhere between Pavo and Pyxis.

Fischer has or had skis all over the map, and many are still available
as new.
I have a pair of Outtabounds Crown (I think the longest 189cm) and I am
quite unhappy with the glide or usefulness on any packed surface (slide
sideways much too easily). The only thing I like them for is going in
deep snow in the forest (when dense enough).

I think narrower equals better glide.

For me the Outtabounds are too wide, some of the models to look for
with steel edges a
Outtabounds front width 88mm
E109 78mm
E99 68mm
E89 59mm
Sport Powerlight 51mm
rebound crown 88mm
Boundless 98mm single camber
Explorer 60mm
Outbound 70mm

some of these are single camber (the Outabounds might be 1.5 camber if I
remember right). I am interested in the Explorer (part of the Nordic
Cruiser line)
I am looking to sell the Outtabounds if you are interested. They have 3
pin Rottafella Super Tele bindings and the bases are in near perfect
shape (I didn't use them much), But a few marks on the top sheets.

My friend used Rebounds with 3 pin binding on our last trip. They turned
better than his old Fishers but did not climb or glide as well as his old
skis. I use cable binding and think that such bindings would have worked
better on his skis.
