If you hear it only when you brake, you should probably see to it fairly
quickly. OTOH, you can grind a hell of a lot of metal off rotors before
they stop stopping. Yes, I know from experience. I kind of wish I'd
saved them.

My friend found out it was cheaper to rent a car to drive to San
Francisco than to use her hubby's BMW. If the rental breaks, you just
make a phone call.

June is nice, but not opening for another month. If you go there, stay in June Lake. It's right next to the ski area, Swiss-Alp scenery, not too expensive, and old funky motels. When I stayed at one a couple of years ago, the only 3-prong outlet where I could plug in my laptop was in the bathroom..

You don't carry a 3-to-2 adapter? There isn't a single 3-prong outlet
in our entire house. I don't think they understood such things when the
house was built. They were also unclear on the concept of right angles.

Okemo claims to have skiing also.
It ain't winter until they can set gates!

Okemo's been open for about two weeks. I've been watching - it's on my
short list for next weekend.

I have done the early open okemo, and it is normally a raised narrow
white trail running in the middle of the regular sized trail.
But I think we are in for some snow now as temps have dropped and the
giggly bouncy weather girls are mentioning snow.

Hunter claims to open this friday.....

I hope it was a GFI outlet.

You don't routinely replace them? Growing up in an old house in the
inner city we would replace them all the time.

I don't think they understood such things when the
house was built.

They didn't need it. One wire is live and one is a ground. The
knowledge of electricity is older then Ben Franklin.

They were also unclear on the concept of right angles.

I'm sure they knew. The ancient Mason symbol includes a square. But
in those days the building codes were just suggestions.

I'd like that. When I was little we'd go on driving vacations and stay
in tourist cabins, etc. Ever so much nicer than modern interchangeable
tourist-containment facilities.

Too much trouble. We've lived here for 46 years, why change now? You
don't want me to tell you about the connections for our computers and
'entertainment system'.

1952, I think. Just cheap cheesy suburban construction, and it's really
only a nuisance when you have to do something with the plumbing.
Fortunately there's teflon plumber's tape, putty and duct tape . The
son of a woman who still lived a few houses away built them. I forbore
to tell her what a **** she had for a son, she was a nice lady. His
hirelings also dumped the extra concrete in a hole with a foot of dirt
on top. Nothing would grow there, so I decided to double-dig in a sack
of manure. Ah-HAH! I rolled the thing out to the far back yard and let
it fight it out with a wild risebush. They seem to be coexisting nicely

Been to k-mart twice. I think I posted this. First time out was via the
"stairway to heaven. Second time was a week ago Friday and it was really
quite good. No planning anything this weekend, usually too crowded on a
holiday weekend so probably Wednesday 12-4 and maybe Friday too.

I enjoy an early but slow start. Gets the legs going without hurting
yourself.

Not for me. I can change one of those in five minutes. Then there's
my dad's old trick of taking a pair of pliers and just pulling the
third prong off the male connector.

Or cutting it off with heavy-duty wire cutters. Do they still call them
dykes?

Only the old timers. Usually they're referred to as, "cuts."

I've heard of it, but it just seems kind of pointless.

You probably don't care for Tim Allen either.

What I do, I do for fun.

Gardening is NOT fun. I've got other things to do on nice days, such
as golf.
