I found it to be a little on the hoity toity side. Much like Park City. A lot of people that are "comfortable" but behaved and expected to be treated as "rich" without actually paying for it.

I guess I didn't get that vibe much, though it was a long time ago (and I haven't been to PC in an even longer time). It's just that almost every place I went to was not just good, but *great*. Nowhere else I've ever been - including Paris - had as many great restaurants per square foot in my experience. That was just my experience, that one week; things may have changed since.

Living and visiting probably give different perspectives as well. I worked there and dealt with a lot of the people differently than a visitor would have. Same with the perception of good vs. great I suppose. You're on vacation, having a great time, I'm going for the 10th time (if they last that long). More humdrum?

I don't have much enthusiasm for skiing anymore. How many thousands of days can a person spend doing it? I think I've found out. As part of that evolution, the whole scene is less appealing to me. Just the way it goes I guess..

Increase the challenge:

Wear a blindfold
Monoski
Use only one ski (not a monoski)
Snowblades

Don't thank me, I'm here to help!

The obvious solution is to learn to snowboard. :-)
It worked for me.

My wife wants to go somewhere this spring, but not skiing. She would like to go to Marco Island, but I really hate Florida.
