The new three-buckle T2 would perhaps be somewhat better overall for
backcountry (being lighter), and was what I was originally looking
for, but then I found this very good deal on the T1's... If I bring
the heavy gear I'm skiing for the descents anyway, so I don't much
care that the T1's are a bit heavier.

generally, i like(d) the new 3 buckle T2 very much: it's light, it's=20
sufficiently technical (i'm skiing a stormrider with voilee), same=20
material and smiliar structure as the laser (for alpine randonee). but,=20
last christmas in lofsdalen (h=E4rjedalen, sweden - it was VERY cold for =

more than 3 weeks as you probably know) i froze the toes of both feet=20
(not realizing it immediately).

later on, a friend of mine told me that's a structural weakness of that=20
T2 because of it's sole. may be it's the price for the exceptional=20
lightweight (?). moreover, for my personal need (i have slim ankles and=20
feet) the innerboot on the ankles isn't formed very well: closing=20
strongly the buckles the padding wasn't sufficient. may that can be=20
changed with new thermoformable liner of scarpa.

anyway, i changed to the T1 last spring (it was a good deal, the price=20
wasn't that much higher than the thermoliner) and despite the additional =

weight, i'm happy with it.

greetings,

ulrich
