Thanks for all the help (again!!). I've got a good idea in my head of what I'm
supposed to be doing. I'll blame my lack of progress so far on being only able
to practice on a dendex surface!!

I previously thought that carving involved a change of body position at the
start of the turn in order to make the skis bend. Everyone seems to be saying
that it's not nearly so complicated. Thanks for clarifying this point.

I think that my problem was not keeping my weight far enough forward AND over
the ski. I'll also have to be more gradual - thinking about rolling from one
set of edges to the other. I was hoping to try your advice tonight but I have
to meet friends instead (tis the season) - will probably go to the 'dry' slope
tomorrow!
