Default June closes

Yes It's true. In spite of being at 133%of normal with a 12 ft base and
more snow coming on Monday--Rusty Gregory (COO and GM of Mammoth/June
Mountains) has decided to go ahead an close June at its regular target date
of the second weekend of April. The rumor mill says that he wants to keep
Canyon Lodge open for as long as possible--and it costs about the same to
run Canyon as it does to operate all of June Mt. June has been retained to
host several summer camps and Pro-race camps--as well as photo shootes for
various magazines and advertising agencies--but it will be closed to us true
believers.

Anyone up for a letter-writing campaign?

Wayne

Yeah. I'm giving serious consideration to skinning up Carson's. It's
public land after all.
