Default Dynaskate Roller Ski?

Doug's post about going to Marwe 610 roller skis out of frustration with
Jenex 125s tires got me thinking that the Dynaskate hasn't gotten a lot of
attention. This roller skis is a hard wheel skating ski with suspension by
way of springs that chosen based on skier's weight.

Has anyone used them?

Default Dynaskate Roller Ski?

I purchased a pair this spring and they are outstanding, if not a little
pricey. I have them set up with Marwe wheels which are much more durable
than my F1s. The shock absorption of the springs reduces the vibration on
rough pavement (including fresh chipseal), they track extremely well. The
price with bindings was about $650, but IMO well worth it. They are faster
than the F1s or 125s, but with the good feel and tracking, downhills are not
a problem.

Judging from that website these must be great skis. $650, though, is a
bit too much. The same damping effect should be achieved with aeros
150s.

Gary, I once I am done with my PhD defense (in 4 weeks - hopefully),
I'll see what I can do with me pair of ROLLKAs - I still think that's
the only option if you want to go really off-trail on rollerskis.

At the price (and weight??), I wonder, why bother? The honey comb shaft
of the 610 does an excellent job of damping the chipseal vibrations AFAI
am concerned. Some do get a tickle on the bottom of their feet on the
afton trail, but i use a beat up pair of fischer boots and the vibration
does not bother me. Using the wider wheel marwe damps even more. Maybe
its just my insensitive foot.

Compared to my V2 920's aluminum shaft, the marwe's are positively
cushy. (And the v2's aren't so bad either.) The shaft decambers to
give a little on snow feel. It is more fun classicing on my new (used )
MArwe classic roller skis since I can work on flexing the ski to get a
more explosive kick.

I still cannot justify the pneumatics for the kind of trails we have
around my house --- not necessary for the chip seal, the pneumatics are
no good on an honest, soft gravel road as we find in cabin country, but
a buddy of mine says they are great on some of our packed gravel trails
like the Luce Line. But Rail beds are just too flat to drive far to RS.
I'll rollerski the old 29th street tracks (rail to paved trail
conversion) just because they are near my house and will get me through
the lakes to Keniworth and beyond.

They are tearing up the canopy with an invasive paving project at
Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore from Grand Marais to the Au Sable Log
slide --- write if you need addresses to complain.
