Default Tour De Ski

Early breakfast in the dark, skied in the forest all morning,
lunch in an ancient scottish hostelry watching the World Champs
50K on Eurosport.
4 Nordics clustered round the screen, 100 or so Kilties celebrating
that their team had win a tassie for something.
Then an 8 hour drive home, just got in. That Sunday Traffic!!

During the 50K there was a soundbyte introduction to the new FIS
Nordic person, Jeorg Capol ?
Over the background noise we thought we heard him say that he
was proposing a form of Tour de France team setup to make the
World Cup events more interesting and more profitable for everyone
and to gain more public awareness for Nordic events.
At another time he made reference to King of the Sprints,
King of the15K, 30K and 50K but that was drowned out altogether.

Did anyone else hear this or does anyone one have a PR briefing
from him on his aims as the new Head Honcho which might give
us a clue as to what he meant.
Mike

Taywood,

Here's the link the the FIS press release for the "Tour de Ski":
http://www.fis-ski.com/data/document...ntryxctour.pdf

I think it is a great idea and it is really good to se FIS
experimenting with new formats.

Wasn't Frode amazing in the 50k? The Norwegian commentator kept
saying that in the falling snow, anyone who made an early break
wouldn't win it. Frode just blew the field apart and then turned on a
finishing sprint. How can someone so big get such a high tempo?
