Snowboard Lessons for children - UK
Hello,
I'm having problems sorting out a snowboard course for my children, aged 10 and 12. I live in Harlow, Essex and the 2 local dry slopes are not able to give lessons. At Basildon kids must be at least 11 and at Welwyn kids must have size 4 feet, so both are out. SnozoneMK do kids lessons for £22/hour but this is a bit of a long way, although real snow, and they don't do courses. Anybody here know of any slopes not too far from Harlow that cater for kids? Thank you David ) |

I'm getting really annoyed at my posts not showing up when I post from work!!! To try and remember what I said... I think it's worth the 1.5 hour trip to MK for the 'real' snow. Maybe you can take lessons for different skill levels to make up for the lack of a "course". There is a dry slope in Brentwood but I don't know anything about it. Cheers Tim |

Thanks for the reply. I also posted to r.s.r.e. and got a few replies.
I've tried Brentwood, Welwyn and all the localish ones but no snowboarding for under 11's and snozoneMK is £22 for a one hour session for kids. I've now booked them in to High Wycombe for a starter lesson on Saturday[#1], if they enjoy it then I'll get them another lesson there then pop over to Milton Keynes. Thanks again [1#] - £3.50 to join and £11 and hour for nippers -- David ) http://kitemap.co.uk/stack Reply address invalid due to total spamage. Thank you Buy a skateboard. I started to skateboard this autumn and it feels like snowboarding when going slalom downhill. I have borrowed the book "Skateboard, a step-by-step quide to Improving your technique" (written by Steven Kane) from the local library. |

The youngest (10 years) is getting a skateboard for his birthday in a few
days. Also I have a 'freebord' ( www.freebord.com ) that I will get them on but there are no decent hills around here. -- David ) http://kitemap.co.uk/stack Reply address invalid due to total spamage. If you must reply by Email, please use address at above site. |

I hope they have fun. I've never been on a dry slope but it's certainly
cheaper! I'm looking forward to getting my 4 year old on her (Christmas present) ski boards in Norway. I only tried boarding for the first time this year as my usual skiing parner couldn't make our holiday and I had to go with a beginner. I had 3x2 hour lessons at Hemel Hempstead and nearly got to the point of linked turns. First day on the snow in France and I was crusing down any slope you could throw at me ) Now I'm just a bit scared to get on that bloody plastic stuff again and make a total fool of myself. At least I've got at least 2 boarding/skiing holidays this season, the last chance I will have as I'll have to take the kids in 2004/2005 if they enjoy it. Regards David ) |
