Hazens Notch Vermont
For those looking for a great place to ski with no crowds, lots of snow
and great scenery, check out Hazens Notch in Montgomery Vermont. I've been skiing there about 5 years and have never had a bad day. Hazens Notch has ~30k of groomed trails. Unlike Bolton or Trapp Family lodge, Hazens Notch is not built around a hill and has lots of rolling terrain. The trails end up with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and from January on typically there is at least 2-3 feet of snow on the ground. All that and the place sees very few skiers. So few people go that it is like skiing in the backcountry only the trailsare groomed. While I hate to see the place too crowded on a typical weekend day, the place is a bargain and on a typical weekend day, there aren't more than 10-15 cars in the parking lot......more people need to show up to keep the place in business. |
