Yep, got to Fernie on the 19th, there was "steam" coming off the Elk
river. I bought myself one of those face masks the next day as it was
still under -20.

I was
at Sunshine that day, but it was dead calm and sunny. I was dressed
for it and completely comfortable. I've been much colder in warmer
temperatures, if it's windy and cloudy.


I was getting dressed in the car park. I should have gone to the day
lodge.

Lived there 15 years ago for a couple of years - that was great, got in
lots of days. Now I'm in Saskatoon - it's a struggle to get in 3 trips
in a year.
