Default Atomic c:9 vs. Crossmax

Hi
Although I know demoing is best, I may end up buying blind and could
use some advice. I'm intermediate (easy blacks) skier working to get
better (lessons, etc) but lucky to get 10-15 days a year, mainly utah
and tahoe. 5'9", 170, 40 y/o. Ski primarily on groomed but like easy
trees (and will do more as I improve). Primary choices are Salomon
Crossmax 8 Pilot (165 cm) and Atomic C:9 Puls (170). although money
is not the key, the Atomic is quite a bit cheaper. Any advice?
Thanks

Advice point #1: Don't buy blind. Try before you buy.

Advice point #2: If you're going to buy blind, the Atomic C9 is
probably the best percentage buy. A disproportionate number of skiers
rank the C9 in the top 5 or 10 skis. Not all consider it the "best",
but it's usually in the running. If you buy it, there's a good chance
you'll find it acceptable, even if there are skis out there that
you'll like better.

YMMV. In fact, YMMV a lot. By all means demo if you can.

FWIW, I tried the Crossmax 10 and thought it was mushy and
unresponsive. I'd expect that the Crossmax 9 is worse. The Crossmax
8? Let's not go there.

FULL DISCLOSU Reading my mutual fund report today, I realize that
I have about $100 invested in K2 stock. I doubt it changes my
opinions on anything, but it's easy to be blind to conflict of interest.
