looking at pictures of the profil bindings on websites i think the
newer profil bindings have a bigger slot for the rear pin on the pilot boots than my bindings. wondering if that would be a problem for me. finding profil skating boots is a hassle. and i would probably want boots that won't be obsolete soon. |

If your Profil bindings are old, it may be helpful to cut a little
notch in the binding plate so the rear pin on Pilot boots can drop down. Just stick the boots into the bindings a see of the pin comes down onto the binding plate before the boot drops all the way down. 2 minutes and a hacksaw will do the trick. Just bought some pilot boots and using with 10-12 year old profil
bindings - no problems, have tried ski's with pilot bindings, to me, not a significant difference wintermutt wrote: hello. i bought some skating skis with solomon profil bindings. need boots. according to this website the pilots will work well with the profil bindings (not the other way though which is fine with me). http://www.sierranordic.com/BootSale.html is this true? thankyou. |

From: "wintermutt" sorry - more info - my bindings are salomon profil skate and classic bindings with manual linkage. I don't see any problem with the extra (pilot) pin. However, it sounds like you have Combi bindings. If so and if you plan to use these skis for skating only, you should consider changing your flexors (that's the coloured piece of rubber were the toe of your boot meets the binding) for the harder skating flexor. A pair of flexors should cost under $10 and they are very easy to replace. If I remember right, classic flex bits have the number 85 stamped on them, combi have 105 and skate 115. BarryT |
