Default More Fischer Lace problems

What did Fischer say when you called/wrote to politely inform
them of this?

Fischer's number is 603-224-2800 and ask for Nordic (I think Abby), or
do a google search on this newsgroup for Eli Brown, who is the Fischer
US nordic manager. The big problem is not the laces, which can be
replaced, but the lacing system. I get the impression that will be
changed next season.

Do you know of a good place to write/email
Fischer? I would love to be able to send the
boots in (I have both the classic and skating
boots) over the off-season to be modified. I
do not care how it looks, as long as the laces
tighten up once and for all and do not break
frequently.

Thanks,

Actually, it's both. I've broken two laces, and seen a number (5+) of
others who have had similar problems. The 'stock' laces are terrible.
I replaced mine with Salomon 'one pull' from a pair of skate boots, and
have seen other folks use waxed kevlar speed skate laces.

I must be lucky. I have the Centrix boots but have had no lace issues. I have found that I do not need to lace them as tightly as other boots. Anyway..........so far, so good.

I am curious though, is it the lace that breaks, or the strap of cloth that the lace loops through that breaks? I want to be prepare for what may come next.

Thanks............Jim C.

It happened yesterday, I have done nothing yet.

Hopefully the replacement laces will last.

I'm beginning to have lace problems as well.

Another issue is not being able to step into the binding with my left boot.
I'm not sure of the exact problem, it is very unpredictable. Seems that it
could be ice/snow sometimes, others the latch just won't click down. If I
force it it causes the are between the toe bar and the second bar to bow up.

Anyone else had this problem?

Been there too. Take a look at the toe of the boot. Mine was starting
to get a little frayed plastic (easily trimmed) that interfered. The
interesting part was that it worked fine if I did it with boot in hand,
and worked fine on 'the other ski'. Also, it seems to be easier
sometimes if you engage the back hook first.
