Snowboarding in Japan

Hi,

I live in a place very close to major ski resorts.
And I might have an opportunity to live in Japan (Sendai)
for a year.

I tried to make some research on Google,
but i didn't find good answers.

Do you know if there's any ski resorts
close to Sendai ? How the ski resorts look like ?
Which period of the year is there snow ?
Are there any good snowpark ?

Basically, is a daytrip possible to a resort open
from december to may with a nice halfpipe ? How much
would it cost ?

Hi! I live in Japan, just 180 km south of Sendai (ie, approx halfway
between Tokyo and Sendai).
