Mammoth Mt. has announce it's plans to open on Nov. 11. I was up there
Sunday and there is snow down to the top of Thunder Bound. The season is
almost upon us. Meanwhile you might enjoy some of Dave McCoy's photography.
He has a blog at

Tune-up those planks. The season is nearly here!

Well it didn't take us too long to figure him out either. And you know
the saying, "takes one to know one". Those poseur boarders saw him
coming a long way off. Probably up close too......but that's another
story. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.......... ..

It has it's high points. But for me, it's too much headache. Had I not
been there before, and skied it with a long time local, I'd want to
add it to the list. But that's about it.

I have never skiied Mammoth for less than 2 days, and usually 3-5 at
once. The basic trip during my pre-soccer days was to drive up
Sunday, stay in a Mammoth condo or a June Lake motel suite, ski
Mammoth 4 days and June on Wednesday ($10), then return Friday
afternoon.

Now that I have a son living in Davis (and who is, unlike most college
athletes, permitted by his coach to go skiing off-season) I will have
to construct a similar plan for the Lake Tahoe region. My last trip
there was in January of 1993, when a friend of a friend owned a
vacation house in South Lake Tahoe.

I think you're drinking your breakfast again, freak. If the boarders
had figured me out the way you have, there would have been none of
them on the mountain. But of course, boarders have more manhood than
you freaks. Which is truly a statement on what
pppppuuuusssssiiiieeeessss you are.
