Are you really suggesting that we're supposed to stop skiing before May?

I skied last Saturday and Sunday mornings and spent the afternoons on my
road bike... Looks like I'll be doing less and less skiing and more and
more riding in the coming weeks!

Lars I'M THERE! are you?

I was through yesterday, but my season may well
be over.

Next weekend I am committed to taking my 16 year
old to a lift service place.

This week Weston seems to have called off night
skiing.

Maybe I will take Thursday off and go to Windblown,
if the conditions warrant.

Otherwise, it is wait until Dec time again. Always
hard for me.

Spring skiing from Finse is of course a nice tradition, but there's no
real _need_ to travel these days:

Yesterday my son & I skied in Nordmarka, and the conditions were just
great, with all the new snow we've gotten over the last couple of weeks.
In fact, it is even better than it used to be in the end of
november/beginning of december, before all our snow went away and
started to hide out away from the city.

We are of course going up to the mountains above Rjukan for our regular
Easter skiing vacation, but it seems like Nordmarka might stay very nice
well into April. :-)

There's still plenty of snow in Central New York and the Tug Hill
area. The real skiers are still out there, though some who call
themselves that have already turned to cycling.

Last Friday, we got our largest snow storm for the season (4-5 inches),
so I was able to ski locally on Sat and then drove to Elm Creek to ski
on artificial snow on Sun. The local natural snow had turned to rutted
ice by Sun morn, and 30 min north at Elm Creek, they didn't get snow.

Even though Elm Creek was groomed well and the snow was in good shape,
it was just painful to ski there. I've seen the place too much. The Sat
ski on ungroomed snow was much more enjoyable.

Still plenty of snow to ski on in central New Hampshire. Crust is
good, and ski areas are still grooming.

I remember Skistua/Frognerseteren webcam showed white picture until
first week of May in 2003. But all brown on May 5th. I cross my
fingers for late season this year.

In Sirdal/west Norway at 600moh we have had groomed tracks until April
20th in 2003 and 2002. We'll see how it turns out this year.
