I don't know the answer to your question but I was in the travel agent 2
weeks ago booking something and the girl behind the desk was telling me how she went Skiing in Canada for £199 last year. That has to be worth the risk and waiting!! I remember seeing late deals to Canada with Inghams for a bit over 300
pounds last year.. but then you can book now for 400 with them.. I remember someone on this forum going to Livigno for 150 pounds.. that was a pretty good deal.. The problem is you don't know what you're going to get.. "Rob White" wrote in message ... Subsequent years for different times have been a bit unlucky. If you avoid half term (14th ish) you should be lucky. If we had gone 1 week earlier or two weeks later we would have been fine - it's the risk you take. From last seasons observations there was plenty of last minute availability through January and from the middle of march onwards, less availability for the first an last weeks of february and almost nothing for the middle of feb and the first two weeks of march. That said the year before it would have been easy to go last minute for the first week in March. When the time comes, try http://www.alpineanswers.co.uk who seem to have a pretty comprehensive list of last minute chalet availability. (I've never used them personally). Ian W. P.S. If there are more than just two of you you might find last minute deals a bit harder to find. |

Hmmm, that was me (Livigno, Inghams, Easter time, booked through Last Minute.com a couple of weeks before departure, £150pp). Was an excellent trip all in all. I wasn't expecting the earth for £150, but apartment was pleasant enough, just a couple of hundred metres from the slopes, though a bus trip into the town. Bus was free and regular, and it only took 5 mins to get into town, so I wasn't complaining. Flights and Transfers were excellent, albeit the transfer is fairly long. Probably one of the best weeks skiing I've had pound for pound, and Italy is well up on my list of favourite ski destinations. It's rare that we use packages for any kind of holiday as I hate paying the prices, but I couldn't fault that particular trip. Simon |

late booking
I have booked through teletext pages in last 2 years and have got HB hotels
in Courchevel 1850 for under £150 both times for 2nd week in January. Great value. "glen shues" wrote in message ...
