FS: The Ultimate XC Ski "Dream" Machine
For Sale: The Ultimate XC Ski "Dream" Machine (just a little joke)
"The Dolomites of Italy - A Travel Guide" By James and Anne Goldsmith, with Giovanni Rizzardi, Gernot Mussner, Paolo Pompanin 277 pages, 1989 (out of print) 10" X 6", 1.5 lbs. $25 - (no offers, or bidding, sorry) I have the book up for sale at Amazon, & you can search by the ISBN 1 55650 162 5 or the book link, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/off...?condition=all or the image link, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cus...g=UTF8&s=books I purchased the book new in 1989, and it is autographed by the 2 main authors. It is in very, very, fine condition, no bent pages, stains, etc. More than generously illustrated with over 180 fantastic color photographs, "The Dolomites of Italy", places in the reader's hands, a comprehensive winter & summer guide, to the Dolomite mountains, located in northeastern Italy. In the movie "Breaking Away", Dave Stoller's mom, helps to sustain her dreams, by keeping her passport handy to look at, & "The Dolomites of Italy" will do the same. So, don't be caught holding that same old plain dull sandwich in your hands at lunch, put "The Dolomites of Italy" in your brown paper bag or micro-lite backpack, & finish lunch with a satisfied smile on your face. The Table of Contents : About the Dolomites - pages 4 - 36 The Dolomites In Summer - pages 38 - 156 The Dolomites in Winter - pages 168 - 244 (info regarding the location of xc ski trails, back-country skiing, off-piste skiing, drive times , etc.) Travelers' Information - pages 250 - 274 Over 30 maps & diagrams, over 50 hikes illustrated w/route maps & photos location of xc ski areas, & trails location of alpine skiing in 30 different areas Information about the history, geology, food & wine, flora & fauna. The fully indexed grip shiftable economic buy-ability indices, rank very high for this book, according to the following measurablility tests, This book compared to 1 week's worth of buying 32 oz. big gulp cappucinno's? Absolutely no comparison, the coffee gets pee'd down the toilet, you lose your total financial investment in one flush. Trying to hold it in & save your liquid assets, just makes it even more painful. As long as you have the book, you're continuing to feed your brain & make an investment in your intelligence. This book compared to a 1 month subscription to live internet video porn? Well, first of all, you should be out training, & not trying to work up a sweat watching porn, but more importantly, the porn may require the credit card permission of your mother, girlfriend, or wife, and that's a long up-hill climb best left unapproached. Advantage, still "the book". Skipping the offering plate tithe for a month, & buying the book? Or not buying the book & tithing? That's a tough call. Both the tithe, & reading the book, could be said to be good for the soul. Buying the book over the tithing, may pose an internal moral dilemma, a conundrum. Either decision, is economically ethical. Ranking, 2.5 index points out of 3, very high mark berkeley, calif. |
