Default SNOW IN THE SIERRA!!!

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

_ I don't know what it is this year, but even getting out and
dragging my skis across the rocks was more fun than I've had in
months.

_ Sunday morning I headed up I80 to Castle Peak and there was
about 6-10 inches of light dry snow on zero base. Boreal was
open. I put in a few miles out to the Peter Grubb hut and around
the valley. Not even the secret powder spots were skiable so
it was all mostly shuffling, but I did find a new secret spot,
just needs about another two feet of snow. I probably could
have found something skiable up on the ridge, but it was
storming pretty hard so I stayed in the trees. I hit rocks
everywhere...

_ I was snowing pretty hard when I left around 1pm, a very cold
storm, with dry light snow. Very un-Sierra like, the snow level
was pretty high. It was only really snowing hard on the crest.
The jet stream is looking pretty good at least for a couple days,
but a serious pasting is needed to get skiable conditions.

_ Booker C. Bense
