SNOWBOARD BOARD ?
We fully appreciate once a skier....always a skier ! Great way to star
snowboarding 10 years ago. But now, 2005-6 starting to learn skiing is a
waste of time and money ! Available primarily to provide a part-time
living for the ski instruction industry/PSIA.

Far better the 5-8 year old kid start immediately on the many small
boards now available. No foolin' around with up-hill-down-hill skis,
crossed skis, down-hill inside edge control, etc.

Just stand'em up, push'em off, get out of the way and pick'em up. We've
done it thousands of times since 1976. They're now national and global
champions for several reasons: an early start, guts and concentraited
practice.

Perhaps next year their will be a new Snoboard Only Group. Hope so.

Disagree. Why not learn both?

With due respect...who would want to learn both ? Who would ever want
to ski with a board as an alternative ?

Soon, with enlightened property mgt, we will not allow any skier on
"snowboard mountain property" lest they get hurt. ALTA with its No
Snowboard policy, among others, will hurt !

Ever try skiing down from the top of Mt Hood between 8 and 10 AM on the
frozen crud left from the day before's skiers/boarders ? The ruts
don't move. Skiers take the next chair down. Some Ice Boarders cruise
on down..ruts and all.....but carefully ! That's one of the many
differences.....Boarders tread where skiers dare not go !

Just imagine for a moment....all boarders not a skier in sight !
Soon.......maybe next year !
Kind regards.......2/16/05

You must be talking about some Mt. Hood other than the one I know.
