how to stablelize board when scraping wax
looking for cheap and creative solution to stablize the boards when I'm
scraping wax. currently I just push it against the wall or the ground, however, with the bindings and the shape of the board, it's not stable at all. |

I usually either remove the bindings and just put the board on a pair
books/blocks OR put the board over the armrest of a foldout chair (mine happens to have nice, flat armrests). The chair way is quicker since you often don't need to take off the bindings. Although it is better to take them off to let the wax soak into the base under the bindings better as the binding screws pull heat away from the base. However the chair armrest are narrow such that the far-end of the board have a tendency flip-up if you put too much pressure on it, which is annoyign. You can buy rubber no slipping under padding for a dollar or two at the supermarket to help keep the board from sliding. Stretch it across an empty five-gallon floor wax bucket or two. These
buckets are frequently found in the trash. Some really did hold floor wax; others held powder laundry detergent. When you go boarding, take the bucket in the car with you. You can toss your wet boots in it on the way back home. Empty floor wax buckets are among the most versatile and useful things you will ever find in the trash. |

Take bindings off,
Put binding bolts back in, Put board on Black and Decker Workmate and tighten up to bolts. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ima...=UTF8&n=228013 -- kitemap http://ugcc.co.uk |

or leave the bolts off and use the plastic wedges to tighten against edge of
board, but I've lost my plastic wedges. -- kitemap http://ugcc.co.uk |

well, if you don't want to purchase the snowboard tuning clamps (which
work great and attach to any table) you just need some kind of rubber to hold things in place. It'll move a little, but I'd think if you do it on top of some old tires or put a rubber mat over whatever surface you use. If you use the chairs, as suggested, drape an upside down car mat over each chair. The rubber should hold the board nice. http://snowboards-for-sale.com/snowboard_tuning_bench/ |

Lay it down flat on something that will support each end -- like between
two stacks of crates. Either that or you can lean it up against a workbench, counter, or something similar, not as good but for me it's usually good enough. whatever you lean it up against has to be taller than your top binding. you can make sure it's not going to move against the ground by resting 1/2 your foot on the tail of your board. bri Squirrel123 wrote: looking for cheap and creative solution to stablize the boards when I'm scraping wax. currently I just push it against the wall or the ground, however, with the bindings and the shape of the board, it's not stable at all. -- * enjoying the karma * remove LKJSDFJSD from address to email |
