"Let me entertain you!"

... Here is an interesting post from rec.skiing.nordic: ----- Original Message ----- From: "Inger Skramstad Jørstad" Newsgroups: rec.skiing.nordic Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2003 8:05 PM Subject: Trail rage Tomas Bystrom" skrev i melding ... Tord Heggdal was training at a provisional trail on a small road near Lillehammer when a SUV came driving along and thus ruining the trail. Tord stopped the vehicle and asked if it really was necessary to drive here. The driver didn't like that at all and pulled out a shotgun, That would not have been a problem for Tord if he had been a biathlon skier, and could shoot back. Apparently they have SUV driving, gun toting rednecks in Norway, as well. And "trigger-happy" biathlon skiers ready to retaliate. Eh, Inger? I was actually waiting for one of you to discover this posting, and throw it right back in my face, so definitely no surprise there. This is an incredibly rare incident here, I have never experienced something even remotely like this myself, so I must admit that I seriously doubt the truth in it. And the thing about the biathlon skier shooting back at his attacker was obviously only a joke, because they are most certainly not allowed to wander about outside restricted and closed training areas with their biathlon rifles, not to mention loaded ones. That would have been a total scandal. And, you must also notice that even though "Tord Heggdal" is supposedly a Norwegian, Tomas Bystrøm is most definitely Swedish, and the Swedes are known to be notorious liars. They can never be trusted, you see. (Smiley!!) |

"Their attics are vacant", we say about such persons here, or "Their books are unbalanced". And a lot of other things, too, like "There is no furniture on the top floor", or just simply, "There is nobody home in their penthouse apartment". A few chops short of a barbecue, a few beers short of a ****up, a few sheep loose in the top paddock... ant |
