Default A-Basin to open

Just got an E-mail alert from A-basin, they're opening tomorrow. I
guess they win the race this year, altho it looks like you won't get
much of a run.

Do you think Sarah Palin skis? *She's from Alaska.

If I was with her, I'd "Ski the Biggies", if you know what I mean.

I took Friday 17-Oct off, but more due to plans to ride my favorite
narrow gauge railroad (The Cumbres & Toltec Secenic RR). I hit
my Beloved (tm) Friday morning, then got in some train pictures
later that afternoon. My web site has a few pictures of both
activities.

http://www.iskico.com

So, a fun Friday, got in 15 laps at Loveland, to be followed with
some RR photography on my Cumbres & Toltec. I really fell in love
with the Colorado narrow gauge railroads 1.5 years ago. This
last summer I was hooked BAD! Maybe over this winter, I will
build a sub-site and post my train pictures.

Last weekend (25-Oct-08), I was on the C&T, a freight photo special.
I didn't really miss my Loveland. I had planned to sleep in my truck
that Saturday night. If you looked at my web site, you see how my
plans were changed. So, my plans to hit Loveland on Sunday the 26th
became "how do I get home". Anyway, a new truck, and an old shell
later, and I hit my Beloved (tm) last Sunday.

So for this year, after spending gobs of money on narrow gauge
railroading, and a new (to me) truck, I own a Loveland season
pass. I also picked up a Copper 4 pack, as I havn't been on
that hill in a few years (although I have driven by it a bunch
this summer). The A-Basin Bonus pass is getting a bit expensive,
so I got a Keystone 4 pack, which works at the Basin. My Loveland
pass gets me 3 days at Monarch, which the narrow gauge used to get
quite close to.
