Default How to clean diamond stones?

Any great suggestions for cleaning the accumualation of base, sidewall and
wax from diamond stones, and regular stones for that matter?

I have one of those 2 X 8" diamond "stones" used to sharpen chisels
that I've also used to base edges. I rinse it in mineral spirits
(paint thinner). I've not cleaned the stone I carry for edge dings,
but my thought would be a light water/detergent applied with a brush
and rinsed well.

Mineral Spirits

Goo Gone is a strong citrus cleaner that will cut wax. Mineral
spirits doesn't always do it.

Without in any way disparaging Goo Gone, I would add that I have tried,
with unsatisfactory results, Simple Green and Citra-Solve. I hope some
day to have the pleasure of experiencing Goo Gone, though I earnestly
hope the need will not arise.

The representative of mineral spirits yields to the gentleman from Goo
Gone.

Do you know if Goo Gone a lot stronger than the regular citrus base
cleaners? I've got a bottle of Kuusport base cleaner kicking around
somewhere... Also what about automotive wax and grease cleaner?
Thanks,
F. Plant
