It would be nice if the system always did things correctly.

* *Weather - just about perfect - no clouds, little wind, cold enough to
* *avoid afternoon slush.

* *Snow - icy in spots, but all the good runs were skiable. *Geronimo was
* *a little tricky since they apparently had left the snow guns running
* *all night in one position so there were big piles of gluey man-made
* *wirh patches of ice between. That should get better as it gets skied
* *out this weekend. *The best was probably on Silver Mountain, the one
* *in the middle with the old slow double chair. *All the best runs were
* *as good as they get at Big Bear unless there is recent snow.

I hate the fresh stuff the guns blow. *Definitely needs to be beaten
down as soon as possible. *I've only skied 'real' snow once, and I can't
see much difference.

That's because you are one stupid blowhard dumb****.

* *Crowds - No real lift lines anywhere except on the big quad, and that
* *was just a couple of minutes. * *The upper parking lot was full by the
* *end of the day, but not the gold course lot, so no shuttles needed.

Sufficiently few boarders? *Lift lines aren't the problem, crowded
slopes are. *Slalom is NOT my thing! *Suppose boarders were required to
wear rear- and side-view mirrors; *do you suppose that would help?

How about you actually learn how to ski? THAT would help.

* *Equipment - I wore the chocolate shell pants over my jeans

Chocolate. *CHOCOLATE? *I didn't realize that guys can call brown
chocolate. *Interesting...

Actually, real men call that color "****". Henry bought **** colored
pants just in case he sees me on the slopes, so the stains won't show.
Probably has yellow boots, too.

Jeans? You were wearing jeans under your pants? What an amatoor!

Always wear long johns under bibs or ski pants. Jeans restrict your
movement and skiing ability. Take it from us pros. Sweat pants, or
long johns. In fact, underneath my clothes I'm completely naked.

Don't forget Horvath's famous fashion accessory: waterproof/breathable
diapers.

Jeans?

Layers yesterday::
Bottom: Socks and tightie whities, thermal long johns, jeans, shell
pants.
Top: t-shirt, turtleneck, flannel shirt, parka.

In the middle of the day, I decided I could have done without the
jeans. I was sweating pretty good.

Probably could have done without the flannel shirt too.

I went out to shovel snow today. I had on wool socks, long johns
thermal shirt, sweat shirt, all covered with a one piece carharts.
Heavy boots, a military arctic hat and military arctic gloves. I
could only stay outside for about fifteen minutes and my fingers would
get cold. The gloves I was wearing were heavy leather outside and
fleece inside. Made for arctic use. And I got cold shoveling snow.

How about if boarders were required to wear skis?

That would solve the problem.

I find cotton on the inner layer to be comfortable. Synthetics on the
inner layer, even socks, give me a rash and chafing without the sweat.

I bought some wool socks at a backpacking/adventure store. They're
made out of mountain goat's wool. I love them. You should try some.

Don't forget the diapers. I might ski in Southern Cal someday. Right
after I take up snowboarding.

Everyone's seen the pics, dumbass. I wear a speedo. The ladies love
it. If you wore one the police would have you brought to an insane
asylum after they stopped puking.
