Default Ralph Melville, Mt Chalet Aspen

Most of you may not have known Ralph or skied Aspen. But if you did...I received this from Craig Melville today.

Dear Friends,

It is with great regret that I write to you today to let you know that Ralph Melville has passed away. While we will all miss him, we want you to know that his family is at peace with his death and are joyful that he has gone to join Jesus in Heaven. Please join us in remembering him for all the good he did in his lifetime. As guests of the Mountain Chalet, I am sure you have fond memories of Ralph whether fixing something in your room, shoveling the snow outside, or just enjoying breakfast and gluhwein together. If you do have a memory or anecdote about Ralph, we would love to hear it.

We also want to put your minds at ease regarding the future of the Mountain Chalet Aspen. We have been preparing for the generational transition of the Chalet for a long time. We have no plans to sell the hotel and will continue to run it in the tradition that Ralph and Marian started. Marian and the rest of us still look forward to seeing you when you come to visit.

There is no need to send flowers or gifts in Ralph's memory. If you would like to honor him, please do something kind and loving for someone else. Ralph spent his life being a good man instead of a great one. Some of his personal interests, if you would like to donate in his honor, are Gideons International, Crossroads Church, and Rotary International. Better yet, however, help out some individual who needs it.

In Peace,

Craig Melville
