Buying "fit" items online: bad idea...Alpina TR40 boots: noheelcup.
In article . com, wrote: Someday I'll learn. Buying items online that require good fitting---when you haven't fit the product before---is a bad idea. I just bought an on-sale pair of Alpina TR40 classic tour boots. The store guys and I discussed the risk but I went for it anyway, hoping to get lucky and not have to worry about boots anymore. They arrived. I put them on and noticed that they don't have much of a heel cavity. When you stride around the heel rises up a lot. I tried on all my old boots (Rossi, Merrell) and notice much more of a heel pocket in them, and more flex, so when you stride, the rear of the boot stays with your foot. This lack of heel pocket probably means big likelihood of blisters when going out for slightly longer outings. And all this just because he didn't like red... -Mitch |
