Default Jay T's Thanksgiving Ski Camp '06 Day 4 and Day 5, Camp Wrap-up

Jay T's Thanksgiving Ski Camp '06

Day 4 Saturday, Nov 25: Another great day at the ski camp! Among the
participants were Jerry Engen, Lori Belz, John Schmidt, Rob Belz and
me, Jay Tegeder. We rode the bikes on the asphalt roads of Lakeland,
Lake Elmo and Stillwater in the fabulous Saint Croix River Valley. The
total time for the ski specific workout was 1 1/2 hours. We found some
new trails as we were scouting for more places to ride our cyclocross
bikes. Jerry finally found the pond where all of the geese have been
hiding. He hasn't had a lot of success hunting this season. However,
the large pond is a protected area so no hunting there for Big Jer.

Day 5 Sunday, Nov 26: The final day of Jay T's Thankgiving Ski Camp for
'06. Believe it or not, we actually rollerskied! Yeah, real ski
training!!! The group included Jerry Engen, Lori Belz, Bill Stuber and
me, Jay Tegeder. We skated for 2 hours on the roads of Lakeland,
Bayport and Stillwater east of Saint Paul and hard up against the
Wisconsin border. The route included a couple of big climbs.

Camp Wrap-up: All in all it was a very successful ski camp. I had a
couple of bad crashes during the two days of single track, single speed
mountain bike riding. On Day 1, I crashed off of a ramp and skinned-up
my shin. The crash on Day 3 happened when I rode up a big rock
expecting a ramp on the back side only to find a big drop to the
ground. I landed on my shoulder pretty hard. Nothing seemed to be
broken but my collarbone is sore and maybe I cracked a rib. Anyway, it
didn't bother me rollerskiing at all.

As for the camp participants; I was the only one who attended all 6
days which included the preamble on Tuesday. Here's how many days the
other campers attended:

Jerry Engen - 4
John Schmidt - 4
Rob Belz - 3
Tom Bengel - 3
Lee Bengel - 3
Lori Belz - 2
Bill Stuber - 1
Bob Sumada - 1
Mike Brown - 1
Ben Popp - 1
