Flat-board riding, or flat-boarding, is a downhill skiing/snowboarding
technique that rides the ski/snowboard "flat" [in relation to the snow
and the slope], that is, as the slogan said, "ski the bottom, not the
edge."

And above all, come with skiing without poles, pole-plant is no longer
needed. While skiing loses its signature "hopping" beats, free-hand
skiing transforms. With free hands elegantly reflecting the balance of
gravity, as well as playful, flat-boarding becomes truly "free" form
of skiing.

At times, yes. It makes a great rotation/counter rotation excercise.
