Kidding aside, I guess I naievely expected to see photos of someone
racing in retro ski garb, a la knickers, wool sox. Someone did that
on the WC a couple of years ago in the last race of the year.

You need to learn norwegian, so that you can (truthfully) claim that 'I
only read 'Nettavisen' for the articles.

You must be thinking of Jari Mantila who in 2002 started the
last race of his career (in Nordic combined) wearing the
Finnish racing suit, but entered the finish area in a classic
Noirwegian "Telemark-skiing" outfit - a gesture which
delighted and was appreciated by the spectators.
