Default La Plagne advice

I'm off to La Plagne (Belle Plagne) next w/e for the first half of the
Easter holiday.

I'm an 'intermediate' boarder, but I'm travelling with the family for the
first time. My wife and two kids (9 & 12) have had dry slope skiing lessons
for the last few months and are shaping themselves OK. They have morning
lessons with ESF for 6 days.

I'd appreciate any general advice on where to go and where to avoid; for me
alone in the morning, and as a family in the afternoon. I've only ever
boarded in L'Espace Killy so don't know the area at all.

Finally any advice for a decent restaurant in any of the easily accessible
villages from Belle for my daughters 12th Birthday.

Thanks.............Mike

My favourite runs are the tree lined runs down to Les Coches.

Default La Plagne advice

Just got back from there last weekend with my 7 & 8 year old
first timers.

Most of the blues back from Arpette Chair are relatively managable,
some have a few uphill sections, so not sure how good they would be
for a boarder. For a short blue for progressing the first
timers onto, you could try "Belle Plagne" which you find by heading
around the back of Gondola station. My 7 year old was happy with that
after a couple of days.

The kids managed Ramy, Belott and Bridge after a few days, by
then you'll have found your way around !!

A bit of advice for Belle Plagne...

If you're in the Pierre et Vacances apts, then there is a lift
from the main shopping area (head right at the bowling bar) which
avoids THE STEPS.

The bowling bar is a great place to take the kids.

There are two Spar's - one at the top of the lift and handy for
the apts, the other in the main shopping area is larger but more
of a walk.

Enjoy.
