Neutrogena soap or candle wax, buffed off with a soft cloth. Smith used to
make goggles with a little battery powered fan that worked pretty good also. -- Raider Rick "Just ski, baby" "Stan Lipnowski" wrote in message ... Any home made remedies to your glasses from fogging up? Stan |

Glasses keep Fogging
I never did find a solution that *really* worked.
My glasses always fogged, even with "anti-fog" coating. I think it has to do with breath moisture and the direction of the wind (i.e., back into your face is not good). I switched to contacts and they used to dry out on the downhill (seems I don't blink enough going downhill). Damn near killed myself in the Norway Birkie on the last downhill before the stadium. Finally, I had the lasik surgery and skiing is now trouble free. However, my night vision is the pits. Ah well, there is no such thing as a free lunch.... -S. "Stan Lipnowski" wrote in message ... Rudy Project has a model with "double" lenses to address fogging.
I never checked them out but it might worth a try. |

I'm mostly happy with my Native Eyewear glasses that have ventilation holes built into the frame. If the temps get below 10F, I may experience a little fogging when I'm not moving. (One of us has nano2 and the other has a model with a smaller lens.) I tried the Native Eyewear glasses based on a discussion here several years ago... I'm especially delighted with the long guarantee on the glasses. I crunched my frames over the summer and wrote to them to ask how much a new temple would cost. They replied that the glasses have a lifetime guarantee and that they will replace the parts for the handling fee (US$20). When they got the glasses, they replied that my frame color had been discontinued, and asked me to pick a new color. I got new frames & new lenses. I didn't expect them to honor the guarantee after I mashed the glasses, but was very impressed with the level of service. I enjoyed (brrrr....) my first skiing of the season at Morse Farm outside Montpelier, VT over the very, very cold weekend of Jan 16th. It was really fun to see how they're developing their network of trails. I don't think they have the hang of grooming with their new Pisten Bully yet, but I'm sure they will learn quickly. It's so nice to see a family-run business bring more XC skiing choices to us. (It was cold enough that I got a little fog on my glasses when I stopped to catch my breath.) - Jim Fox |
