Default 50 hours of Nordic

CBC is now carrying Biathlon, Nordic Combined and and Jumping
as part of their live coverage in addition to Cross Country.
This boosts live Nordic coverage to at least 50 hours!! :-)
This is the CBC "Country Channel".

Also good news is that the commentators are now:
Carol Gibson Coyne (Formerly of the Cross Country Team)
and Ron Richards (formerly of the Ski Jumping Team).
Both were on the Teams for many years and raced at the Olympics.

Any word on what their coverage will be like on the normal CBC? I get CBC
but not CBC Country Channel.

CBC is saying that they are going to have 256 hours in total across
all of the CBC channels for all of the sports and opening +closing
cerimonies.
I'm not sure how their math is done for this.
There might be some double counting with the multiple channels..
There will be nordic coverage on the "main" CBC.
For CBC-CC there is a very specific schedule. I got a copy from
Biathlon Canada's web site (in PDF). www.biathloncanada.ca
At http://www.cbc.ca/olympics/broadcastschedules/ for the CBC main.

Day 1 starting at 8:00 on CBC-main it'll rotate between Biathlon,
Nordic Combined and Freestyle. I'm not sure when it stops.
In contrast CBC-CC starts at 5:00 to 13:00 covering Nordic
Combined and Biathlon. (all times ET).

Check the web links above for more of the details.
Enjoy.

I just found out that there is even more availability of
the events. On the Rogers cable network they have teamed
up with CBC for the Olympics for the CBC "On Demand" channel.

An On Demand channel allows you to pick various programs to
watch at any time of day (multiple times if you want).
The selection will be loaded at 6pm each day.

So if you miss an event you can watch it later when you want.
The selections will be kept for about 30 days after the Olympics
finish for our addictive viewing pleasure.

So if you miss the 5am live coverage this is one way to get
the whole thing again later in the day (or the next 30 days).
