Tug Hill Tourathon Successful

NY's Tug Hill Tourathon X-C Classic Race was very successful Sat. We
changed from a 50K to a 40K by getting rid of some of the more difficult
hills as we didn't know how they'd stand up with the amount of snow and
skiers we had. Groomed trails and tracks were in excellent shape,
temperature made for some interesting wax decisions, but heard absolutely
no complaints at the finish line, and it turned out to be a happy "party"
with lots of smiles. I tried to send a special Tourathon discount out
Friday night to Loppet skiers from the trail head, but missed my guess on
the piper hamline email, so am sorry about that.

Yes it was, and Race Director "cbing" should be proudly blowing her own
horn. As always, the race was well organized, something that was more
difficult this year as they had to get volunteers out for two race weekends in
a row. The groomers, volunteer shovelers, and DEC did a great job w/ the
snow they had to work with. I skied part of the course late Fri. and couldn't
believe how much cleaner and better it was by race time Sat. morning.
Would that my skiing had been as good!
