Who it's for: Racer, Professional or Expert Skier The ICON is for the
racer or expert skier who needs the best technology available. This
boot is more versatile than any of its kind. The Carbon is ...a true
race boot with built in adjustability for all shapes and sizes.
Interchangeable Cuffs- The Interchangeable Cuff is a revolutionary
design in the upper cuff which allows the cuff to be interchangeable.
The cuff is made of a stiff spine that provides the framework for an
interchangeable outer and inner cuff. These can be mixed and matched
to suit personal preferences. The result is incredible versatility in
changing the performance and leverage aspects of the boot for a wide
range of skiers. Removable Flex Cuts with Inserts- Flex Cuts allow for
a longer range of flex when the inserts are removed in the inner and
outer monoshell. Flex Cuts with Inserts, combined with the
Interchangeable Cuff and Tecnica's full range flex device provides a
large range of adjustability to meet specific skier preferences.
Raised Sole, tighter instep, longer toe box- A Raised Sole on the ICON
boots has an increased height along the entire sole for better
leverage. It provides more power to the ski and helps eliminate boot
out. Second Generation Endo Frame- Second Generation Endo Frame
Technology utilizes a process where the inner frame incorporates a
carbon fiber modifier in the PU to reinforce the boot. This carbon
additive can tune the flexural characteristics of the shell to create
a stiff frame that works in conjunction with the outer shell.
Together, the endo frame and shell structure provide the proper
structural and wrapping characteristics to ensure a secure and
comfortable fit. The skeletal frame creates a new energy transfer
system that increases strength for better lateral transmission and
creates a stiff sole that eliminates torque. The structure is more
rigid only where the strength is needed and has reduced thickness
elsewhere to make the boot lighter and more compact. All this results
in a smooth flex characteristic with an increased energy transfer.
