lanes. "Surface is power-tilled loose granular over a frozen granular
base."

I noticed that Camp Mercier...north of Quebec City (30 min
drive)......reported fine conditions on about 20cm of new snow. Apparently
they got some mixed precip a few days ago...followed by a lot of new snow.

Was scheduled to do Lake Placid and when it was rained out, headed up
to Ottawa. Great skiing here...snowed most of the day. The Keski course
has great skiing right now....sounds like the best in the East.

Doesn't seem to me like Craftsbury is likely to happen, at least on
point to point course....??

Best,

Stuart Stevens

Just coming back from 3 days at Camp Mercier. Got over a foot of snow during
the first two days, followed today by beautiful sunny, cold and crisp sunny
day with perfectly groomed fresh snow. Winter at its best :-)

Things have gotten better during the week.

The ski centers that I listed last weekend as closed (Trapp, Sleepy
Hollow, Hazen's Notch, Blueberry Hill, Mountain Meadows, and Sugarloaf)
are all open now. In general, more trails are open (e.g., in Jackson,
N.H., up from 5 km to 38 km).

In Minneapolis, we woke up to 46 F this morning. The average Jan temp
(high + low)/2, has been about 27 F, and we've had nothing below 0 F.
(Very odd.) We had a pretty good Dec (meaning we had some snow), and
Jan up until this point was cloudy, so we were keeping a thin layer.
