I'm not talking about the weekend, I'll be skiing on Monday and a few more days during the week. I never said you were. Monday = one of the busiest days of the year. What about night skiing at Keystone? I would guess most of the weekenders would start the trip home. That's probably a good call although I believe night skiing at Keystone is only Thursday through Sunday. I would expect them to make an exception for a holiday but check with the resort before you make any plans. Wow, I guess I'll be waiting in lines during the day. I want to do Keystone on Monday, how bad does it get there? I think it's $71 for a lift ticket, will that drive people to a cheaper resort? What time should I get there, 7/8am? If I get there at 10am am I screwed? Optimize. Try to be on the slopes at times when there will be the smallest amount of people (even though that amount will probably still be large). Get there early. Go in for lunch early, like 11 or 11:30 latest. Get back out while most others are at lunch. Ski until close. Crowds will usually lessen in the later afternoon. Dave |

It's fun if you have never done it before. And a good way to avoid the crowds. The unfortunate part is that it means you are skiing Keystone. That part of it kind of sucks. ---------------------- Chester Bullock, Colorado Mountain Cams, Snow Conditions, Opinionated Reports http://www.black-diamond.com AIM: tenxible YahooIM: ccb247 |

Every single ski area in the United States will have long lift lines on Monday. At my Beloved the lines will NOT be any near as long as they were there on opening day, back mid October. If anyone hits A-Basin this Sat or Sun, drop a line here about the lift lines. I am hitting Beloved on Saturday, and expect minimal lines. Monday is a "don't know" day right now. Depends on the A-Basin TR & what I miss doing at my Beloved. Sam "May your turns be sweet this weekend" Seiber |

Every single ski area in the United States will have long lift lines on Monday. Actually the lines will taper off by Monday. Many will be tired, many will be hung over, many will "have to pack, you go skiing without me," many will wish to leave earlier so they can "beat the traffic" (thereby joining the traffic at its peak.) Maybe President's Day is just a day in the western US. Here, it's school vacation week, not a three-day weekend; therefore, I expect everybody to be just about settled in and ready to ski all day on Monday. Certainly none of the week vacationers will be packing and leaving. -- Mary Malmros Some days you're the windshield, other days you're the bug. |
