New 2004/2005 Burton Ions

I'm wearing the 9.5 2004/05 Burton Ion. Nice and stiff, but with
reasonable side to side ankle flex. The lacing system is very tunable
for tightness, and my heel locks down very well. They also have a
supplemental tongue piece that will further stiffen the front.
I picked them up for about $250 (haggle the retail guy if you can) and
they are well worth it. I bought them snug, with my toes right at the
end of the inner boot, but toes not curled. Perfect. There is just a
little more room as you lace them snug for riding.
I rate them 9 out of 10.

ditto for me. although i'm getting heel lift now. darnit heel lift!!

I can echo this - easily the most comfortable and easy to use boots
I've ever had, as well as working the best on the board. When in the
bay area recently, a friend of mine tried some on after hearing me go
on about how good they were, and immediately bought some, they felt
that good.

I'm not sure which Burton boots I tried at the weekend, but they did fit
nicely in the shop. I didn't find the lacing anything special, and
doesn't match the Salomons. In the end though, I couldn't buy them
because the shell was too big, I was unable to strap them into my
bindings. I have no more adjustment left on my straps.

Went for a pair of ThirtyTwo's Lashed instead, which currently have a
couple of toes touching the front, and the heel hold is amazingly snug.
