Default Custom Boot Liners

I have a pair of 6 year old Technica TNS ski boots which I love. The
liners are packed out and I would like to salvage them somehow.

What do you think of those custom liners these days? Are they too
whimpy? Are they worth the $$? If so, any particular ones you'd
recommend?

One more thing: If I get custom liners, do I have to get brand new
custom insoles too? Or can I salvage the ones I have now?

Your custom insoles should easily transfer.

Several choices for liners, although most brands seem to be
heat-moldable foam these days. I think ZpFit is out of business (Anybody
know for sure?) but you could find some in leftover bins. Or you could
find some nearly new, genuine TNT liners at swap meets (you'd be
surprised how the un-used quality of some discarded boots; I guess some
"skiers" just don't ski.)

But your easiest bet, if your current liners don't have cuts or holes
worn on the inside, is to shim them out a tad to firm up the fit, or
raise your footbed slightly. Lots of easily obtained materials will
work. And you can try it out at home with no lost skiing time, so don't
be in too big a hurry to discard possibly good inner boots. Technica
made pretty good liners in those days.
