Skate ski sizing
I have a chance to purchase a pair of used Fischer RCS junior skate skis for
my 10 year old daughter. They are in excellent condition and are going for a very good price. She is about 142 cm tall and 71 pounds. The skis are 162 cm. I realize that this exceeds the general rule of thumb for a skate ski, however, for this brand/style of ski, does anyone have any advice. MKS |

It's easy for a child to get turned off when a ski really doesn't
work for them. There will presumably be other chances along the way. Are you near a shop with a kids program that does trade-ins as the child grows, or a club that has a swap? When I find a good deal on an item of useful kids' ski equipment that's too big for my kids, I sometimes go ahead and buy it and put it on the "when they grow into it" shelf. If I wait until they need it I would always be paying full retail. When they need something I don't already have, I go ahead and pay full retail. It's still a bit of a guessing game, but so far we're significant $$ ahead this way. -Mitch |

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I went ahead and bought the package. On
closer examination and measurement, It should be okay. MKS wrote in message ... I have a chance to purchase a pair of used Fischer RCS junior skate skis for my 10 year old daughter.
