Default EBay changes that could spell problems for the CrapShack!

Got this info off originally of Morgan Webb, so you can watch her
delivering it - don't know if that's a plus or a minus for you (for me,
it's always a little of both ).

But here are the crucial items:

The biggest shakeup will occur for sellers of low-priced items. For
items under $25, eBay is raising the commission from 5.25% to 8.25%.

Significantly, a major change in the feedback system was also
announced. Sellers can now only give buyers positive feedback.
Whether this will hurt sellers remains to be seen. In the past
buyers tended to gripe less due to fear of a retaliatory negative
feedback -- a sort of "I'll scratch your back, if you scratch mine"
setup.

Ooh, I bet someone's ratings are about to take a big plunge!

Sellers with generally bad ratings will see their match exposure
drop. Also, any sellers with bad ratings for shipping will see their
exposure drop, as eBay is particular concerned about sellers' past
handling of shipping.

"Particularly concerned about seller's past handling of shipping" - heh-heh.

The feedback changes seem odd to me...I don't understand the rationale
behind only allowing positive feedback.

That said, I totally agree that The Gear Shack (if moldy, ash-stained
clothing counts as "gear") will be taking a hit.

I have noticed a few "Feedback withdrawn by mutual consent" results.
presumabley there will be fewer of those.
