Default Tuckerman Tips

My buddy and I are planning a trip to Tuckerman's Ravine this year. I'm
an advanced boarder and he's an expert skier. Would love to hear from
some Tuck veterans the tricks and tips you'd advise to make our initial
visit an enjoyable and safe venture. Any and all suggestions are
welcome.

The thrill of the "Tuck" will be lost if you know everything.....that's
why it's a great run for boarders partcularly. Steep and beautiful.

Suggest check:
Iimmediate weather forecast...it can change very quickly as on most
mountains;

What you plan to take with you with patrollers and/or
guides....trailmap, clothes, equipment, gloves, food bars,
picture-cellphone, compass, sun goggles, personal stuff- ID, credit,
health insurance, bankcards, emergency home/med names & numbers, etc.

Have a great run but take minimum chances.
You can do it ! Good luck !

hey now,

Only hiked up that way myself. Can recommend you get an
RSN login and post in the Sugarbush forum (its one of the
few that are still allowed and active). There are quite
a few there that do Tucks every year and can probably
give you some pointers.
