How would top NFL runner do in XC sprint?
Say you found a top football runner -- an agile, athletic guy who
isn't just a pure runner but who could probably be a fast NCAA sprint- runner... Say you found such a guy who was also familiar with and fast on inline skates... That might not be such a hard person to find -- lots of ballsport athletes probably enjoy inline skating and some might even do it quite well... Some might even already do it using ski-poles sometimes. It's not such a rare workout, is it? Maybe you couldn't find a top NFL dude like this, but maybe a top NCAA dude who didn't make the draft. Could such a person make a good XC ski sprinter? Maybe for the Madison, WI, 100-meter ski dash? |

In the same line of thinking, some years ago there was a thread here about athletes form Africa that were introduced to XC Skiing, assuming that if they were great runners they would be great skiers. Anyone know if they succeded. I think it is the same with football runners. Technique is very important and takes time to acquire but how much? Sylvain |
