Well, grats, but bah. I was hoping you were going to describe
something like what Solitude had (at least a few years ago): flexible
tickets that allowed you to ski a few runs today, a few some other
time.

Well they have the technology to do that...

Cool ... and it would make a lot of sense for a close-in resort like
Eldora, too. A handful of runs before work ...

And, I'm sorry for sounding less-than-enthusiastic. It's cool that you
worked on that project =)

No worries! I have my own cheerleader so I really don't have to solicit
kudos from the net...

Just a word of warning, if the power straps thread through the liner
cuff, its possible to tear the liner depending on liner construction
-as my wife found out. Luckily it was noticed before it got too far.

Do these things really provide any benefit? My boots fit snug enough
without even using the straps.

They do for me. I can't buckle my boots unless I first tighten up the
power strap. So, I maneuver my foot into the boot, then tighten the
strap, *then* buckle. It's a lot easier for me to yank on a powerstrap
than to pull the buckles into proximity otherwise.

I've found buckling the boots when I load them up in the car is all I
need to do to make them easy to buckle when I put them on.

I do that, too. I still need the powerstrap assist.

Absolutely. The top buckle is an inch or two below the top of the cuff -
the cuff strap helps keep the shaft of the boot moving in lockstep with
the leg. At least for me.

Funny, huh?

Leaning back was my major vice just a few days (of skiing) ago. Last
year, a blue mogul run would reduce me to tears, I would be so
frustrated and scared. What I'm doing now is just plain amazing.

Sounds like you're skiing quite nicely. With practice, "a few turns,
stop, etc." will evolve into more and more turns, until you're linking
turns top to bottom.

That's what I hope. My s.o. suggested that, next time we ski, we find a
nice bump run and go down with rules. First run, link two turns each
time. Second run, three. etc ...

Congrats on the double black!! I've been checking out this ng, and have
found all the hints really great. I've skied off 'n on for years, but just
recently have made a committment to become a better skier. I usually stick
to most blues and some greens, but after last Saturday's lesson, I'm working
at jumping up a level.

Your post was really motivational!!!

I only hope Tahoe gets snow right now rather than rain...

Awesome! I'm glad it got you fired up =)

Lessons are absolutely the best way to get better. I'm glad you're
taking that route.

Ugh, rain.
