Default Haig Glacier Skiing For Citizen Skiers

Is the Haig Glacier near Canmore, AB accessible by hiking to it than
skiing, or is it a fly in deal? Any info would be appreciated.

You can hike in, but it's a long ways in. Two years ago I did it via
the French Glacier in Sept. (the last weekend that it was open). It
took us 5 hr to get from the Mud Lake parking lot up onto the groomed
trails. We were pretty trashed by the hike in; and skating at that
altitude is exhausting. A couple of loops (~1/2 hr) was all the fun we
could stand...

-Ciao!
